Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta could be fuming over what Viktor Gyokeres has now done, he’s spoken about a similar thing before
Arsenal have had a busy few weeks on the transfer front, making a number of signings and with several more on the cards.
Arsenal have signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard in recent weeks, while Noni Madueke is also set to join the Gunners.
Arguably the highest priority for Arsenal is a new centre-forward, and Viktor Gyokeres is currently in pole position for the role.
However, Gyokeres is reported to have done something that Mikel Arteta will surely not be happy with.

Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres is said to have downed tools at Sporting CP
Gyokeres has shown he is especially keen to join Arsenal and, according to Fabrizio Romano, he has effectively downed tools at Sporting.
On Friday, Romano reiterated that Gyokeres “will not show up in training at Sporting today, tomorrow or at any moment this summer”.
The reason Gyokeres’ alleged decision may not impress Arteta very much is because the Spaniard has shown over the years that professionalism is of paramount importance to him.
Indeed, Arteta has been vocal about the importance of wanting players to have certain standards of professionalism.
Several years ago, Arteta told reporters, as per : “I do not establish my authority by being dictatorial or ruthless.
“I just ask for one thing: respect and commitment. At this level, if I don’t get that, I will pack my bags and go somewhere else because that is the minimum I can ask for.
“I am going to expect that from everybody who works for the club. First of all from myself, and the day I don’t do that I will walk through that door and go and do something else. It is as clear as that.
“To be successful you have to be passionate about something and want to represent a club of this size, with its history. That is the minimum standard you have to bring.
“I am not going to ask anybody to put the ball in the top corner every time they hit it, but I will ask them to do the right things every single day for this club.”
Therefore, while it’s good from an Arsenal perspective to hear that Gyokeres is desperate to move to the Emirates Stadium, Arteta may not be keen to hear about what he’s reportedly doing to achieve this.
The latest around Arsenal and Sporting CP negotiations for Viktor Gyokeres
Arsenal are working to land Gyokeres and have prepared a five-year contract for him if the two clubs manage to strike a deal.
As reported by , talks continue between Arsenal and Sporting, though there remains a gap in the valuation of the striker.
Sporting are thought to want £69million including add-ons for the 27-year-old.
The report claims that, while Arsenal and Sporting aren’t too far away from a compromise on an overall fee, how much of that sum will be guaranteed is key.
Meanwhile, reported that Gyokeres feels Sporting’s club president Frederico Varandas has reneged on a pact to let him go for €60million plus €10million (£52million plus £8.6million).
This is a fee Arsenal have already surpassed, added the report.
