Arsenal are ready to sell £30m player now if he wants to leave

Arsenal are prepared to let Aaron Ramsdale leave the club this summer if he asks for an exit.

The Gunners are expected to be very busy in the summer transfer window. Incomings will be the priority, but quite a few players could leave the club too. Ramsdale has been linked with a move away from Arsenal.

Arsenal are ready to sell Aaron Ramsdale this summer

Arsenal signed Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United back in 2021 in a deal worth £30 million ().

The Englishman was one of Arsenal’s best players in his first two seasons at the club. He even got into the PFA Team of the Season last year for helping his side become title contenders.

In what was a big surprise to many, Ramsdale was dropped by Mikel Arteta in September. David Raya has been the first-choice goalkeeper since, and that isn’t expected to change anytime soon.

As a result, Ramsdale’s future has been up in the air, and journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed now that Arsenal will sell him if he asks to leave this summer.

He told : “Ramsdale’s priority is just Arsenal, and only Arsenal, and then the Euros, and only the Euros, and then I think he will have a very frank conversation with the club after the Euros to get clarity on his future.

“I think because Arsenal respect Ramsdale, if he turns around after the Euros and says listen, the opportunities just aren’t there, I want to move. It will be a begrudging exit, but I think that Arsenal won’t be difficult with Ramsdale because they appreciate he’s a top goalkeeper, and naturally therefore can understand that he wants to play week in week out.

“If by the summer they don’t feel they can give him that because they still have full faith in Raya and they acknowledge to Ramsdale that he’s not the number one, then at that point, I think Arsenal wouldn’t stand in his way.”

Ramsdale leaving Arsenal might be the best thing for him

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is just too good to not be the number one.

The Englishman, who could make his final Arsenal appearance this weekend, was up there with the best goalkeepers in Europe last season. He saved the Gunners on so many occasions, and without him, they wouldn’t have been in the title race.

Football is a funny game and Ramsdale learnt that the hard way after he was dropped just a month into the new season. He probably didn’t deserve it, but Mikel Arteta’s decision to pick David Raya has been justified in recent months.

A move away for Ramsdale might just be the best thing for him in the summer as he’s capable of being the number one at most other clubs in the Premier League.

Arsenal should be able to make a profit on him too, so it will work out for everyone.
