Arsenal are ‘ready to put £85.5m on the plate’ to sign player who moved for just £20m last year

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to sign Viktor Gyokeres, and the Gunners are now said to be ready to table a massive bid to sign him.

Mikel Arteta‘s side are on top of the Premier League table and are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. They have an incredible squad, but they still need a new striker. Gyokeres could be the one.

Arsenal are ready to bid £85.5m for Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal have been in need of a prolific striker for a few months now.

The Gunners have Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz up top, but none of them are really capable of scoring 20 or more goals a season.

That’s probably the only area of the pitch where Arsenal are significantly inferior compared to their two title rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City.

A new striker is expected to be a priority in the summer, and Viktor Gyokeres has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates.

The Swede, who joined Sporting Lisbon for just £20 million last year (), has been in unbelievable form this season, scoring 33 goals and providing 13 assists in just 38 appearances.

He has become a wanted man, and now claim that AC Milan are battling Arsenal to sign him this summer. However, the Italians have a problem.

The report has revealed that Arsenal are ‘ready to put €100 million (£85.5m) on the plate’ to blow all the competition out of the water.

It has been claimed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will try to convince Gyokeres to move to Milan, but the Rossoneri just can’t compete with the offer Arsenal are prepared to table.

Gyokeres would be a risky signing for Arsenal

Viktor Gyokeres is an incredibly talented striker, there is no debate there. Reports have even claimed that Arsenal prefer him over Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen.

However, the one thing the Swede lacks that the other two don’t is experience in a top league.

Gyokeres played in the Championship last season and is currently performing in the Portuguese top-flight. Neither of them are anywhere near the level of the Premier League.

That would make him a slightly risky option for Arsenal this summer, but if Mikel Arteta wants him, Gunners fans should not be worried one bit as their manager rarely ever gets his transfers wrong.
