Arsenal are now willing to pay £50m to sign ‘world class’ winger next summer
Arsenal spent a lot of the summer transfer window looking at new attacking options to bolster their frontline.
Leroy Sane was linked to Arsenal at one point, while Arsenal looked at Michael Olise before he joined Bayern Munich.
However, perhaps the most exciting link of the summer at Arsenal was to Nico Williams.
Arsenal were strongly linked with Williams in the summer, but the Euro 2024 star decided to stay at Athletic Club as he remained loyal to his boyhood team.
However, according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1 TV, there’s now a feeling that Williams is more inclined to leave Bilbao next summer.
Kay says that Arsenal are still big fans of Williams, so much so that they’re ready to pay his £50m release clause.
Arsenal are ready to pay up to sign Williams, and this is a deal that could happen in the summer.

Arsenal ready to pay Nico Williams’ release clause
Kay shared what he knows about the attacker.
Williams was dubbed as ‘world class’ over the summer, via , and he could be a transformational signing for Arsenal.
“Nico Williams is someone as well, you’re hearing little things around that, now he’s sort of inclined to leave Bilbao in the summer. He was adamant he didn’t want to go anywhere in the summer gone.
“We’re starting to see big players, and in the summer window there will be some big players on the market.
“There’s no smoke without fire. You only have to look a the players Arsenal are interested in that I know are concrete interest. Alex Baena at Villarreal has been looked at closely. Arsenal would be ready to pay the release clause for Nico Williams, we’re hearing about Rafael Leao, they are all players who could play on that left wing for Arsenal.”
Nico Williams compared to Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard
It’s very easy to get excited about a player like Nico Williams.
The winger was electric at Euro 2024, and, at that tournament, he looked like he was going to be a superstar.
However, now that Williams has returned to club football, his form has dipped.
The attacker’s output this season has been rather unimpressive, so much so that Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli have both been outperforming the Spaniard.

Williams has the potential to be a fantastic player, but, if he doesn’t pick up his current form, he wouldn’t necessarily be that useful an asset for this Arsenal team.
Trossard and Martinelli are both very useful options down that left wing for Mikel Arteta, and while Williams is an exciting prospect, there may be better ways for Arsenal to go and spend £50m next summer.
Williams’ form may need to improve if he wants to get a move to an elite clubs like Arsenal.
