Arsenal are now trying to sign a £40m midfielder who has ‘great human qualities’
Arsenal are thought to be among the teams pushing to sign Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall before Thursday’s deadline.
The Gunners have been mentioned as being one of the teams who would like to sign Dewsbury-Hall. The midfielder is also the subject of interest from Brighton, who are thought to be further down the line than Arsenal when it comes to signing him.
However, Arsenal’s interest is there and it’s easy to see why. Dewsbury-Hall has been outstanding for Leicester this season and it’s little wonder he has developed like he has.
Indeed, his former manager, Brendan Rodgers, essentially predicted a huge future for the midfielder after giving him his chance at Leicester.

Dewsbury-Hall a ‘revelation’, amid Arsenal interest
Speaking about Dewsbury-Hall to the back in April 2022, Rodgers was full of praise for the youngster and insisted he was a joy to coach.
“He is a wonderful demonstration of someone who works very hard and he has proved that if you work hard the opportunities come your way. It is a real joy as a coach and a manager to see a young player come through the system here over many years and then score his first goal at his home stadium in front of his home supporters that he has dreamt of doing all his life. What’s very important for him is to keep proving his point and he needs to find consistency. He has certainly done that since he has come into the team and he’s been a revelation for us,” Rodgers .
“He is a young man that is very determined. He has great human qualities as well. His humbleness, his vision of where he wants to go is very clear and he knows that is just about work. It is staying calm, staying focused and improving yourself every game. You don’t play one good game and then drop off and that is the difference with the very best players. They are ready for the next game and ready to put the same energy and intensity into the performance, rather than looking back at how good they were in the last game.”
Brighton to do it again
If it is Brighton who are to get this deal over the line, then you have to question why the bigger teams are letting it happen.
The Seagulls have done this time and again in recent windows. They have a habit of snapping up top young players and then in the end, making a huge profit when selling them on.
Dewsbury-Hall is already good enough for the PL and we’ve seen it already. And at a, the price-tag isn’t even that bad.
Arsenal, then, might well regret missing out here if it is Brighton who do the business.
Don’t be surprised to see Dewsbury-Hall linked with the Gunners again down the line. Only the next time, the fee will likely have risen to north of £50-60m.
