Arsenal are now pushing to sell another Hale End talent before deadline day after Charlie Patino

It was a sad day when Arsenal finally called an end to Charlie Patino’s time in north London this summer, a midfielder who was once the gem of the Hale End Academy.

Patino will now embark on a new journey with Deportivo La Coruna, a club who have close ties to the former Arsenal player’s family.

Of course, it was the right time for Arsenal to finally sell the 20-year-old, who evidently wasn’t ready to step into the role once imagined for the youngster.

Patino had a similar reputation to Jack Wilshere in the academy once upon a time, but seemingly just failed to progress at the same rate in senior football.

That being said, Arsenal’s latest youth sensation, Ethan Nwaneri, currently looks as if he’ll have no trouble bridging the gap between Hale End and Mikel Arteta’s first team.

Nwaneri was on the bench at Villa Park once again, and Arsenal are now loaning out Fabio Vieira as a result of their plans for the youngster.

Arsenal now trying to find a permanent exit for centre-back Omar Rekik

In similar circumstances to Patino, 22-year-old Omar Rekik has failed to make it all the way to Arsenal’s first team.

The Gunners signed Rekik from Hertha Berlin back in 2021, hoping he could be nurtured into a player who could eventually thrive in the first team.

However, after loans at Sparta Rotterdam and Wigan Athletic, Rekik hasn’t quite materialised into the level of player which Arsenal require.

And according to , Arsenal are now looking to cut their losses and sell Rekik.

Similarly, the centre-back wants to leave the club permanently, seemingly feeling as if he’s ready to find a permanent home, in a similar fashion to Patino.

According to the report, Rekik currently has two options at his disposal: 2. Bundesliga side Jahn Regensburg and also Charlton Athletic in League One.

Of course, there’s unlikely to be any Arsenal fans opposing Rekik leaving the club this summer.

Edu and his team are continuing to try and shift the ‘deadwood’ at the club this summer, and are seemingly doing a good job of it.
