Arsenal are now monitoring ‘unbelievable’ £85m striker who only left English club earlier this year
Arsenal are now considering making a move for Viktor Gyokeres following his superb start to life with Sporting.
That is according to a report from in Portugal, which notes that his £85 million release clause is going to have to be triggered if he is going to move in the January transfer window.
Viktor Gyokeres has proved to be a brilliant signing for Sporting. He has scored nine goals in his first 11 appearances in the Portuguese top-flight. He also found the back of the net on two occasions in the Europa League.
His time in Lisbon could however, prove to be brief.
Arsenal now monitoring Viktor Gyokeres
is now reporting that Arsenal are monitoring Gyokeres as the Gunners look at bolstering their attacking ranks. The problem however, is that Sporting are not interested in negotiating a fee for the forward in January.

In fact, Gyokeres can only leave next month if a club triggers his €100 million release clause. So it is no surprise that he appears to be a target for Arsenal for the summer.
One for Gunners fans to definitely watch
Gyokeres did not get the chance to play in the Premier League before leaving Coventry City in the summer. So a move would be a potential gamble for the Gunners given the price being mooted.
You would imagine that Arsenal will have no plans to trigger his release clause. But Mikel Arteta’s men have certainly been willing to push the boat out in the last few summer windows. So it will be interesting to see what happens if the Swede continues to impress over the remainder of the season.
He has been described as an ‘‘ talent. And Arsenal probably do need a more natural goalscorer leading their line. Gabriel Jesus has not been prolific in the league this season.
So he may well be one name Arsenal fans keep a close eye on over the coming months.
