Arsenal are now internally discussing signing the player who makes the most tackles in the Premier League
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are now interested in signing Joao Palhinha from Fulham.
That is according to , which has noted that Palhinha is a cheaper alternative to Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.
So, what has been reported about Arsenal and Joao Palhinha? Let’s take a look.
Arsenal could sign Joao Palhinha for £50 million
Well, according to , Arsenal want to sign Douglas Luiz from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the January transfer window.
However, Villa do not want to sell Luiz and are looking for £110 million in transfer fees for the Brazil international midfielder.

So, Arsenal have identified Joao Palhinha as a potential alternative to Luiz. Football Transfers has reported that the Gunners “have spoken internally about the possibility of signing the Fulham star during the January window”.
The report has noted that a transfer fee of £50 million would be enough for Arsenal to convince Fulham to sell him.
Liverpool have also been linked with the midfielder. Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag admires him.
Arsenal should bid for Palhinha
In my view, Arsenal should make a bid for Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha in the January transfer window.
Palhinha is 28 now and is at the top of his game. I believe that the Portugal international defensive midfielder would be able to make an immediate impact at the Emirates Stadium.
As noted on , the midfielder has made the most number of tackles in the English top flight this season.
The former Sporting Libson is a very good and combative midfielder who can impose himself in the middle of the park.
Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title and also make a big impact in the UEFA Champions League.
I believe that Palhinha would enhance their chances of having a successful season.
