Arsenal and Tottenham-linked Jonjoe Kenny comments on Everton future
that he is only concentrating on the remainder of his season-long loan spell at German side Schalke – amid reported interest from north London duo Tottenham and Arsenal.
Kenny, 22, moved to Schalke last summer on loan for the 2019-20 campaign after struggling for game time at Goodison Park. The signing of Djibril Sidibe pushed Kenny down the pecking order at Everton, also behind Seamus Coleman.
But since his move to Schalke, England Under-21 international Kenny has been on fire. He hs started all 17 Bundesliga matches this season, helping Schalke to a comfortable fifth place – scoring once and creating two, clocking up eight wins.
both Tottenham and Arsenal are keeping tabs on Kenny, as are Frank Lampard’s Chelsea. Asked about his future, Kenny stated that he is concentrating on Schalke but did state that he just wants to play regularly.
“I am not concentrating on the future, I just want to do my job well here,” . “We’re only in January. There are still a lot of games to be played. I’m not focusing on what’s in the future. I don’t want to be a bench player, I want to play.”

TBR’s view – Would Kenny be first-choice at Arsenal or Tottenham?
He certainly has a chance. At Arsenal, Hector Bellerin and Calum Chambers are injured – with Bellerin struggling to replicate his best form. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is nowhere near the standard required, meaning a new right-back is required.
Similarly, Serge Aurier has struggled at Spurs. The Ivorian is being linked with a move to AC Milan, while Kyle Walker-Peters is expected to leave either on loan or permanently – with Brighton, Crystal Palace and Southampton all interested.
So, if either club signed Kenny, the young Englishman would certainly have a chance of becoming first choice.
