Report: Arsenal will watch talented teen this weekend ahead of potential deal, Mesut Ozil loves him
Arsenal will be among the teams to send scouts to Turkey this weekend to have a closer look at and up and coming midfielder, Arda Guler.
According to reports from , Guler will be watched by a host of European teams this weekend as Galatasaray take on Fenerbahce in one of the game’s biggest crunch ties. Arsenal are among the clubs to be sending scouts, with Liverpool and others also said to be readying scouting teams to attend.
Guler, 17, has caught the eye this season already and Mesut Ozil – previously of Arsenal – has already told the youngster he is going to be a star.
“You will be a world star,” Ozil is quoted as telling Guler, .
Guler has made appearances this season at first-team level, scoring twice and assisting the same number. In total, he’s made appearances across different levels with Fenerbahce, scoring six times as well as playing in Europe.
For Arsenal, they’ll be keen on seeing if they can strike a deal ahead of the pack when it comes to Guler. Mikel Arteta already has some of the finest young players in England in his squad, so adding another prospect will do him nicely.

To be fair, any 17-year-old who is playing well and scoring for a club the size of Fenerbahce is going to get some admiring glances come his way. Guler has been excellent, and it’s hard to believe he’s the age he is.
Of course, Europe’s best will likely be scrambling for his signature. Guler is one of those mercurial talents that you can tell is going to get a move to one of the giants of the game.
Arsenal, then, will be hoping it is them. And if they can beat Liverpool to him, then that makes it all the more sweeter.
