Arne Slot uses just one word to describe Mohamed Salah’s time at Liverpool right after 2-1 win vs LOSC Lille

Mohamed Salah continues to lead Liverpool from the front as he scored the opening goal in their 2-1 victory against LOSC Lille in the Champions League.

Curtis Jones played a stunningly incisive pass to find Mohamed Salah in acres of space, who caressed the ball past Lucas Chevalier to hand Arne Slot’s side the lead.

Lille striker Jonathan David, who raved about Liverpool scored the equaliser in the 62nd minute but just five minutes later, Harvey Elliott’s deflected strike sealed yet another win for the hosts at Anfield.

It was a proud night for both Liverpool and Salah, who has now scored 50 goals in Europe for the Reds.

Arne Slot hails “special” Mohamed Salah after Liverpool vs LOSC Lille

The Dutchman would have been delighted to see the Reds maintain top spot in the Champions League table as they have a three-point gap over Barcelona.

When Arne Slot was informed that Salah has scored 50 European goals for Liverpool after his latest strike against Lille, the word that instantly come to his mind was “special.”

Slot said via BeanymanSports: “Special is I think the word to describe Mo’s performance. At this club, the best or maybe there are even better words to use but he’s done outstanding for this club for so many years and still he does.”

“Today, great goal, if Mo goes on a one-v-one, there’s a serious chance that he’s going to score.”

Arne Slot went on to claim that the work rate from his players to win the ball back in the build-up to Salah’s goal is the endeavour that explains they are topping the Premier League table so far.
