Harvey Elliott is back in training f⭕or Liverpool. Blessed with the ability to operate as a winger or in midfield, the youngster is unlikel🍰y to play week in week out for Liverpool given the amount of competition for places, but he will certainly be an important player for the team.
With Liverpool aiming to win the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, the 21-year-old will get his chances. John Barnes has tipped Elliott t🧔o explode under Slot at Liverpool.
Elliott has been on the books of Liverpool since 2019 and hꦇas scored 10 goals and given 15 assists in 120 appearances.
Slot is happy to have ꦰElliott back after his injury spell, but he has urged the Liverpool fans to be patient with him.
The Dutchman said about Elliott’s fitness on : “We always want all of our players available and it was a blow fo🌼r him and for us that he got injured for such a long time, because I think he has been out for thrꦰee months now.”
Slot added: “Yes, he is training with us ⛄again but that is different than being on the top of your game immediatel🔜y again. So we have to give him time for this as well, but I am very fortunate that he is back, especially with the amount of games coming up in the upcoming two, three or four months.”
Harvey Elliott impressed Arne Slot in pre-season
Elliott di💟d well for Liverpool in pre-season and impressed Slot, who ✨replaced Jurgen Klopp as the Merseyside club’s manager in the summer of 2024.
Liverp🐼ool beat Arsenal 2-1 in Philadelphia. Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho scored the goals for the Reds, but it was Elliott who gave the two assists.
Slot told : “He [Elliott] had two great assists, but what I believe is that the team created these assists for him as well. ﷺPlaying out from the back, getting him in the right positions – or another No.10. Then it is up to him to bring the most of these situations a🍸nd he did that today with two assists.
“If I am a bit hard on him, I think there were two or three other situations where he c🤡ould have done better. But that’s what the team is📖 doing for him; we make sure he and the other ones like Mo [Salah] and like Fabio [Carvalho] come in the right positions where they can show their quality. Harvey did that today with two good assists.”
For Elliott, it is important to be patient and to make the most of the chances he will get under Slot in the coming weeks. If the English youngster does well, then he could become a ♕regular in the starting lineup.
