Arne Slot shares what people inside Liverpool have privately told him about Mohamed Salah
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has shed some light on how Mohamed Salah has returned to pre-season.
The Reds picked up their second win in the United States late on Wednesday night. After beating Real Betis in their opening fixture on the other side of the pond, Slot’s men beat Arsenal 2-1.
It wasn’t the best performance we’ve seen from Liverpool by any means, but to get a win over the Premier League runners-up is not a bad feat at all.
Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool against Arsenal, and Slot has now had his say on the Egyptian.
Arne Slot reveals what he was told by Liverpool staff about Mohamed Salah
Salah has been Liverpool’s best player for many years now.
The Egypt international is one of the biggest reasons why Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool teams were so successful. He has been unbelievable for them and will definitely go down as a club legend.
Salah looked really good against Arsenal on Wednesday night. The 32-year-old caused all sorts of problems for Oleksandr Zinchenko, who was at fault for both Liverpool goals.
Liverpool fans are excited to see how Salah will perform under Slot in the 2024/25 Premier League season. The winger looks like he is in incredible shape.
Slot was asked about him after the win against Arsenal, and he claimed that the former Chelsea man is a role model for everyone.
He also added that Salah returned to training in great condition, which is something Liverpool staff informed him happens every single year.
Slot told the : “Yes, but I don’t think he’s only this (a role model) for this season: he has been that for several years.
“He came back really fit, but from what’s been told to me that’s normal for him. He always comes back really fit.
“But if I only use Mo as an example, I would not be fair to the other [senior] guys because the others are strong and fit as well.
“One of the main positive things until now is all the boys are fit, we have no injuries at all, so we hope we can continue like this and their fitness levels go up and up more.”

Salah’s most underrated trait
When you think about Salah, his electric pace, fantastic dribbling and deadly finishing are the first things that come to your mind.
All of the above make Salah the superstar he is, but there is one trait that he doesn’t really get enough credit for – his availability.
Salah has been at Liverpool for seven years now, and he has almost always been available. It was only in the 2023/24 season that he missed 10 games due to muscular issues.
Apart from that, he rarely misses games, and that makes him extremely reliable.
Slot has confirmed that Salah has returned to pre-season in great shape. That is excellent news for Liverpool fans after his troubles earlier in 2024.
