Liverpool have been busy on the transfer front in recent weeks as they look to get their first summer signing over the line.

🍸The Reds are yet to make a new signing this summer, with new manager Arne Slot preferring to assess his current squad first after taking the reins.

Now, with three weeks left before transfer deadline day, Liverpool𝕴 are intensifying their transfer activities as they look to build on last season’s squad.

The Reds have had their eye on one “world-class” player in particular, and Fabrizio Romano has now gone into further detail about the deal.

Liverpool still pushing for Martin Zubimendi

Romano, taking to , has spoken about Liverpool’s pursuit of Martin Zubimendiꦺ, something he expects will be “an important story in the next days”.

🥂The Reds are still pushing to sign the Real Sociedad midfielder and they are “ready to do everything” to sign him, including paying his £52million release clause.

꧟Liverpool’s main mission now is to try to convince the player, and Slot is personally involved in the process to present the Anfield project, added Romano.

🔯“An important story in the next days will be again Martin Zubimendi,” said Romano. “Liverpool are still working on this deal and so new contacts are expected.

♛“It’s on the player basically, because Real Sociedad does understand that Liverpool are pushing.

🌳“Liverpool will agree on a deal with them if they want to, so if they want to schedule different payment terms different structure of the deal…

🍬“Otherwise Liverpool will pay the clause, so Real Sociedad understand that Liverpool are ready to do everything to sign Zubimendi, they are perfectly aware of this.

♐“Real Sociedad are offering a new deal to the boy, are hoping for Zubimendi to decide to stay at the club.

ﷺ“Liverpool are still going to push in the next days waiting for Zubimendi to communicate his decision.

💧“Arne Slot is also involved in this process to present the project, Richard Hughes obviously the director in active talks, so keep an eye on that one.”

Liverpool in need of new defensive midfielder

ꦉAs a team, Liverpool need to protect their back four and goalkeeper better, so the signing of Zubimendi certainly makes sense.

🔯Although Wataru Endo turned out to be a solid addition, the Reds would definitely still benefit from the addition of an elite number six.

Zubimendi is a “world-class” player🍨, an excellent passer, dynamic in his movement and, at just 25 years of age, yet to enter his prime.

🌟Hopefully Liverpool make good progress on this front and get closer to sealing a deal in the coming days.
