Are these the best veterans now in the lower leagues? feat. former Man United and Sunderland stars

Since the end of the last Football League season back in May, League Two has certainly had its fair share of Premier League interest, not least with the managerial appointments of both Teddy Sheringham and Kevin Nolan. In the case of the ex-Manchester United man, his tenure as boss of Stevenage ended before it had really begun as a run of 16 defeats in 33 games saw him sacked in early February.

Nolan on the other hand, quickly swapped his West Ham playing boots for the touch-line job at promotion hopefuls Leyton Orient, and has guided them to six wins in ten games since the end of January to push them into play-off contention.

It’s not just these two ex-Premier League players who are flying the flag for England’s top league though. A whole host of forgotten players that we’re all familiar with have dropped down the footballing ladder as their careers have gone on. Read on to find a compilation of those who I believe are some of the best.
