Are these Leicester City and Everton stars in line for Premier League awards?

1. Riyad Mahrez

Mahrez is currently favourite to take both awards in an unbelievable season for the Algerian international who has just burst onto the scene from nowhere. The 25-year-old midfielder has lit up the Premier League and is a major factor in the success of Leicester City this year. Having been picked up by Nigel Pearson in 2014 from French club Le Havre, he was part of the relegation survival campaign in 2015 and now the title challenge less than a year later. If the Foxes do win the league, a huge part of it will be because of this man.

2. Jamie Vardy

The Vardy party is still going on despite people thinking Vardy and his Leicester side would have blown out months ago, but they’re still their fighting and they got into this position largely thanks to the goals from this man. A record-breaking 11 game goal streak earned him a place in the records books as well as what surely must be a seat on the plane to Euro 2016. The Englishman’s deadly finishing and meteoric rise has won the hearts of a nation and deserves his place amongst the nominees.

3. Dimitri Payet

This has been the Frenchman’s first season in English football after joining West Ham from Marseille for over £12 million in what now looks like a bargain deal. At 28 years of age, Payet has hit his prime and delivered on the big stage. His goals and assists have been essential to West Ham’s great season. The Hammers are knocking on the door of a Champions League place and an FA cup trophy. Payet has brought attacking flair and been a joy to watch and will definitely be a favourite amongst the players.
