Are these Leicester City and Everton stars in line for Premier League awards?

It has been a remarkable season and soon it will come to an end and the voting for the stand-out players and managers will be counted. There are four main awards issued in the league: the Barclays Premier League Player of the Season, the PFA Players’ Player of the Season (mostly won by the same individual), the PFA young player of the year and of course, best manager for the campaign in question.

A player in a team outside the ‘big six’ has not won best player since the 1999/2000 season when Kevin Phillips won it with Sunderland. Since then, every player has either come from Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham and most recently, Eden Hazard for Chelsea.

However, this season has been far from normal. Leicester City currently occupy top spot with Tottenham their closest challengers. If you had said that at the start of the season it would be met with silence and then laughter…not so much now.

Now, less about the teams and more about the individuals making the headlines this season.
