Are Everton’s Jean-Clair Todibo hopes dead with Ronald Koeman set for Barcelona?
Everton are in the market for a new central defender this summer.
Carlo Ancelotti currently doesn’t have too many options at his disposal, with Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate the only senior options.
Jarrad Branthwaite will hope for more minutes after making his debut in 2019/20, but realistically it’s easy to see why the Toffees want reinforcements.

One man who has been linked with a move to Goodison Park is highly rated Barcelona youngster Jean-Clair Todibo.
The Frenchman is said to be on Everton’s radar (), but developments might just make a deal difficult to pull off now.
Barcelona are in something of a crisis right now after their 8-2 destruction at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
It is being widely reported that Ronald Koeman is to succeed Quique Setien at the helm ( describing him as ‘strongly tipped’), which could thwart any plans Everton had to move for Todibo.
TBR’s View – No favours from Koeman
Koeman was sacked as manager of Everton in October 2017 after 16 months in charge.

He has since gone on record () as saying he believed he should have had more time at the club following a difficult run of fixtures at the start of his second season.
It is therefore not unreasonable to suggest that Koeman wouldn’t want to sell to Everton, especially a player with great promise who can reinvigorate the Barcelona defence.
It may be that Koeman sees Todibo as a means of ushering in a new era at the Nou Camp, which could leave any Everton transfer hopes dead in the water.
It is worth noting that reports have suggested senior stars Gerard Pique, Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti are all on the transfer list.
