Are Chelsea going to lose Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer?
Eden Hazard has suggested that if Real Madrid would come in for him then he would have to listen to them, according to . The winger played an important role for the Chelsea in what was a very successful season for the Blues as they made fairly easy work of winning the league, finishing seven points ahead of second-place Tottenham.
Despite this, the Belgian perhaps sees his future elsewhere, at Real, who clearly have an interest in the man who managed 16 goals in 36 Premier League games this season.
Playing for Los Blancos is something most players dream of and, if the opportunity arose to play in a team that are currently the best in Europe – having just beaten Juventus in the Champions League Final and won their twelfth European trophy – any individual would find it hard to turn down.
The current Real Madrid side boasts some incredible talents – Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Luka Modric, and Karim Benzema to name just a few, while they have arguably the world’s best player in Cristiano Ronaldo. The prospect of playing alongside the Galacticos must be very appealing to the Chelsea winger.
Of course, Hazard must also think about his playing time. He would have to replace Ronaldo at left wing and, although the 26-year-old is a superb player, it is difficult to see this happening. He would probably have to wait to have an impact from the bench or as a potential squad player. Real’s bench is impressive as it is, adding Hazard would only make it better.
The Belgian could, however, force Ronaldo, who is ageing, to play more centrally as he demonstrated his ability in a striker’s role by firing two past Gianluigi Buffon from inside the box. Hazard’s pace would suit Ronaldo centrally as well. The Chelsea man would create a load of chances for the Portuguese man to feed off.
Chelsea are probably one of the only few teams who are able to rival Los Blancos financially, and so this is unlikely to play a part in the Blues thinking if they were to receive an offer.
It will likely be down to the player himself to decide whether he wants to stay in London or move to the Spanish capital. This Madrid side managed by Zinedine Zidane is certainly an attractive prospect.
However, these rumours are overshadowed by a fresh long-term injury for Hazard. The winger suffered a fractured ankle on international duty with Belgium, putting him on the sidelines for around three months, as reported by .
He returned to Chelsea for treatment, but how will the injury affect ongoing transfer talk and a potential move to Real Madrid? Only time will tell.
