Are any of these European coaches capable of replacing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal?
Arsenal got off to the worst possible start in their “monumental week” on Sunday, a loss at home in the FA Cup to Watford is yet another setback in a season that could be Wenger’s last. There is now pressure on the club to evaluate Arsene Wenger’s performance come May, especially if he fails to end their Premier League title drought. This season was expected to be the first time since 2004 that Wenger brought the league title back to North London. Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have all faltered this campaign, it was perhaps taken for granted that Arsenal would capitalise. Typically “Arsenal” performances since the new year seem to have all but ended their title push for another season. Wenger’s men now have 11 points to make up on league leaders Leicester City.
When the time comes to replace Arsene Wenger, it is of paramount importance they get it right. Arsenal will be wary of mistakes made by Manchester United when replacing Sir Alex Ferguson. There is no need to be fearful however, as Dortmund are an example of how you can recruit well and have looked fantastic under Thomas Tuchel who replaced Jurgen Klopp.
