Archie Gray says Leeds United have a ‘good’ youngster he’d love to play alongside one day
Most teams have a young player coming into the first team and excelling these days and at Leeds United, that man is Archie Gray – with teenager nailed on to win the Young Player of the Year award.
Gray has only just turned 18, but has already clocked up 41 appearances for the Whites after making his debut on the opening day against Cardiff City. He’s been super, whether that’s in midfield or right-back.
Little surprise that clubs are showing interest despite Leeds handing him a new deal until the summer of 2028. Jobi McAnuff claimed this week that Gray will be worth a fortune to Leeds in the years to come.
David Ornstein said interest is inevitable in Gray. But, Thorp Arch is renowned for creating young stars, and the Gray family. Archie is the son of Andy, a former Scotland star and a Football League journeyman.
That, and he is the great nephew of Leeds legend Eddie Gray – as well as the grandson of former Leeds man Frank. The family connection does not stop there – with Harry Gray already starring in the U18’s.

Leeds man Archie Gray cannot wait to play with brother Harry
His younger brother is just 15 years of age but has already made an impact with the 18’s. He has scored five goals for Leeds’ U18 side in just seven Premier League games. Leeds are very excited about him.
Elder brother Archie has told in an interview that Harry is performing well in the academy and with some training, is confident he can follow in his footsteps. He can’t wait to play with his brother.
“He’s a good player, I don’t want to say too much. He’ll get big headed. If he keeps training hard I’m sure he’ll be doing what I’m doing. I’d love to play with him one day, it would be like Eddie and Frank again.”
