Anwar El Ghazi must work harder if he is to win over Aston Villa fans
Toward the end of the transfer window, Steve Bruce secured the signature of two wingers. Yannick Bolasie arrived from Everton whilst Anwar El Ghazi was brought in from Lille.
The Dutch international was signed thanks to a new relationship with super agent Jorge Mendes, whose Gestifute company looks after the 23-year-old.
It looked a decent signature. The former Ajax talent was considered one of the best young wingers in Europe at one point in his career. However, a difficult spell in France led him to Championship football.

Aston Villa fans were hopeful he would take it by storm. However, that has not yet been the case. After bagging an assist and a goal in his first two games, his form has tailed off and he has largely been used from the bench.
The reason why was made evidently clear last night. Aston Villa lost their first game under the management of Dean Smith, in just his second game in charge. Jordan Rhodes bagged a double as Aston Villa lost 2-1 to Norwich City at Carrow Road.
El Ghazi came on for an injured Albert Adomah in the second half but put in a fairly abject display. Players have bad games, which fans can forgive. However, with El Ghazi, it seemed he was disinterested and did not put in the requisite work off the ball to allow fans to forgive him.
If the Dutchman is to be a hit at Villa Park, he is going to have to try a lot harder to win over the Villa faithful.
