Antonio Rudiger delivers rave review of Willian as Arsenal move reportedly edges closer
Arsenal appear to be firmly in the driving seat to sign Willian.
The winger recently rejected another contract extension from Chelsea, and looks nailed on to bring his seven-year spell at the club to an end.

The Brazilian’s next club is looking more and more likely to be the Gunners, to be days away from confirming a deal.
Talk has been plentiful from Arsenal fans on social media about Willian, with some thinking he’s a no-brainer and some concerned he may be past his best.
Fans of English football will think they have a good idea about Willian, but not many know him as well as Antonio Rudiger, who has delivered a glowing report of the player.

He said (): “He is a great guy and a really, really good footballer. He is calm and humble and it will be sad if I don’t see him again as a team-mate. He is not the type of player who talks that much.
“He does his thing on the pitch, just like Eden Hazard. By playing, he shows what he is about. He is a guy who dictates the game and not many players in the world have this type of quality.
“He is always training [hard] and practicing free-kicks after. He is someone who always wants to improve.”
TBR’s View – Willian a no-brainer for Arsenal
Rudiger’s testimony may just get some of the skeptics on side.

But really, Willian should be viewed as a good addition for Arsenal.
There seems to be a misconception that the South American is now too old to play at the top level, when actually his fitness levels are very good.
He probably wouldn’t be starting regularly for Arsenal, but to have someone of his ilk around the place, and for no transfer fee, is surely solid business.
