Antonio Conte thinks the Premier League’s fastest player is ‘special’ and really wants him at Tottenham – journalist
Antonio Conte thinks Everton winger Anthony Gordon is ‘special’ and really wants him at Tottenham Hotspur, .
Spurs were linked with a move for Gordon over the summer and claimed that they offered £100 million for him and Richarlison.
Of course, only Richarlison ended up making the switch to north London but it seems that Conte is still eying a possible move for Gordon.
The 21-year-old has got off to a decent start to the season with the Toffees and is currently their top-scorer in the Premier League with three goals.
According to Brown, Conte is a massive fan of the youngster but Tottenham could face a stumbling block over his price-tag.

Conte thinks Gordon is ‘special’
Brown claims that while Conte sees something ‘special’ in Gordon, his former club Chelsea have played their part in his price-tag skyrocketing over the summer.
: “Tottenham’s interest in Anthony Gordon has never gone away. Conte, in particular, really likes this guy – sees something special in him. The issue for them was that they did not value Gordon any more than about 30 million in the summer.
“His value then skyrocketed when Chelsea came in and let it be known quite publicly that they would be willing to pay a whole lot more than that. I cannot see Spurs matching the sort of value that Chelsea have put on him.”

Gordon has certainly impressed at Everton over the past year under Frank Lampard and was recently clocked as the fastest player in the Premier League this season.
Everton have struggled in terms of scoring goals this season and Gordon has certainly stood out in an underwhelming side. But Spurs may be better off looking for a player who is the finished article, especially if Everton are demanding around £60 million.
Yet, if it’s true that Conte really wants him at Tottenham, then they will need to try and back their manager as much as possible.
