Antonio Conte may just have given clue that 22-year-old will return to Tottenham’s starting team soon – TBR View
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte may just have given a clue that Ryan Sessegnon will return to the starting eleven soon.
Coming off a disappointing 3-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal on Saturday, Conte has been facing questions about his team selections.
The Spurs boss has put his faith in full-back Emerson Royal so far this season. But the Brazilian defender was sent off in the north London derby after a reckless challenge on Gabriel Martinelli.

With Emerson set to serve a three-match suspension in the Premier League, Conte was asked about the possibility of handing summer signing Djed Spence a chance.
But the Italian gave a damning answer on both Spence and Matt Doherty.
: “The fans have to be fans. The fans is the fans, I understand they can think everything but I see every day what happens during the training session.
“I try to do the best for the team. If they trust me, then they trust me, but the choices are mine. If I didn’t decide to pick one player it’s maybe because he’s not ready.
“We are talking about a young player with a good prospect, but I repeat I try to pick the best team. Also Doherty last season played every game. Now I’m not seeing him in the right way to start the game.
“I’m not stupid, I don’t want to lose. I try to put the best team, to pick the best team. If they trust me it’s ok, if they don’t trust me then I’m the coach and I need to take the best decision for Tottenham.”

Sessegnon will return to Tottenham’s starting team
It seems that Conte has no intention of handing Doherty or Spence their first start of the season anytime soon, even with Emerson ruled out.
This means Sessegnon could be set for another spell in the Spurs side, with Ivan Perisic moving to right wing-back.
The 22-year-old got off to a brilliant start to the campaign after a commanding performance against Southampton on the opening day. But the England U21 international temporarily lost his place in the side after an underwhelming display against Chelsea a week later.
Sessegnon was given the nod in home wins over Fulham and Leicester City but was once again dropped to the bench against Arsenal on Saturday.
But after Conte’s comments on Spence and Doherty, he could be back in the side against Brighton on Saturday.
Spurs do play Eintracht Frankfurt tonight in the Champions League, but Emerson will be available for selection.
Sessegnon will be hoping to take his chance and nail down a place in Conte’s side, if given the opportunity.
