Antonio Conte left in disbelief after what £30m Everton player did against Tottenham on Saturday

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte will have been pleased with his side’s victory against Everton on Saturday.

Goals from Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg helped Spurs defeat Frank Lampard’s Everton side.

There was one action in particular that prompted a shocked reaction from Conte.

A whipped cross from Ben Davies expertly found Harry Kane at the back post.

The England captain took the opportunity to hit it on the volley first time, and connected with the ball superbly.

Unfortunately, his shot was too close to Jordan Pickford, who clawed his shot away to stop Kane opening the scoring.

Antonio Conte was left open mouthed with his hands on his head after the brilliant save from Pickford.

Pickford went from hero to zero later in the half, giving away a penalty after a foul on Kane.

However, had a brilliant game, and helped keep the score down throughout the match.

Tottenham are starting to make contingency plans for when Hugo Lloris eventually leaves the club.

Alban Lafont and Marc-Andre ter-Stegen are two other goalkeepers that Spurs have recently been linked with.

If Pickford were to make the move to Tottenham, Conte would have plenty more opportunities to be left open mouthed by his saves.

Frank Lampard will be hoping Tottenham end up choosing a different option when considering how to replace Lloris.

Everton have one of the best defensive records in the league, and much of that is down to Pickford.

England will be hoping he can carry that form into next month’s World Cup.
