Antonio Conte calls up ‘quality’ 17-year-old Tottenham prospect to first-team training after cup exit last night

Antonio Conte has called up Tottenham Hotspur prospect Jamie Donley to first-team training, with the youngster spotted amongst the squad today after last night’s cup exit.

Spurs were straight back to work at Hotspur Way today after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

The loss saw Conte’s men crash out of the Carabao Cup in the third round after a dismal display in the Midlands.

Donley has already racked up 17 appearances for Spurs’ U21 side this season, scoring once and assisting one three occasions.

Now, the 17-year-old is training with the first-team after a disappointing night for Conte.

Donley can be spotted standing next to Dejan Kulusevski and Ivan Perisic while the squad receives instructions from Conte.

The centre-forward has been putting in some impressive displays for Spurs’ youth sides and was labelled ‘quality’ during an U19 match against Frankfurt last month

It’s highly unlikely that the youngster will get a chance in the first-team anytime soon but it will only benefit him training with top-class players.

As a centre-forward, Donley has one of the best players in the world to watch and learn from in Harry Kane.

Conte is preparing his squad for their last game before the World Cup gets underway.

Spurs have been going through a difficult run of form recently and have now lost consecutive games over the last week.

The Italian will be hoping his side can secure a win against Leeds to keep them in the top-four.
