Antonee Robinson should help Everton forget about £25m Kieran Tierney
This summer Everton’s need for a left-back was well documented. Many names were mentioned with a switch to Goodison Park. In the end, the Toffees snapped up Lucas Digne from Barcelona and the French international looks a real talent.
But Everton still have to be thinking about another left-back recruit for the future. Leighton Baines has struggled in recent years as he advances into his 30s. Injuries and poor form have been an issue for the former England international.
One potential option going forward is Kieran Tierney, a player Everton wanted this summer. Everton walked away from a deal with Celtic for the Scotland international because of his £25 million price-tag.

But Everton should not worry about going for Tierney as the long-term competition for Digne when Baines is put to pasture. Antonee Robinson has all the tools to do that job.
The American international had a decent season on loan at Bolton Wanderers last term, one that went under the radar for many Everton fans.
But he has started this season with a bang at Wigan Athletic. Fans of the Championship side have been purring over his performances so far, and with good reason.
Rapid in attack and solid in defence, Robinson is looking like having an excellent season for Wigan and the 21-year-old has been called up by the USA for their latest set of fixtures.
If Everton go forward with Digne and Robinson as their left-back options for the foreseeable future, there is every chance fans will swiftly forget about the £25 million Scot they missed out on this summer.
