Anton Ferdinand says he played with an attacker at West Ham who was an absolute ‘joke’

Anton Ferdinand has been building his dream seven-a-side team made up of West Ham players.

The former centre-back has been building a dream team of West Ham stars past and present, and, some of his selections were very interesting.

Of course, Bobby Moore featured at the back, while Mark Noble featured in the midfield.

Noble was an absolute legend for West Ham, and he partnered Joe Cole in the midfield in Ferdinand’s dream side.

Meanwhile, Ferdinand made some interesting choices up front.

Jarrod Bowen has been brilliant for West Ham since arriving from Hull City, and he earned a place up front in this side.

Ferdinand is a big fan of Bowen, hailing the winger last year when he became the club captain.

Meanwhile, as his other attacker, Ferdinand picked one of his former West Ham teammates, Carlos Tevez, claiming that the Argentine was a ‘joke’ of a player when he was at Upton Park.

Carlos Tevez was a joke at West Ham

Ferdinand picked his strikers for his dream team.

The former centre-back says that Tevez was a brilliant player at West Ham, picking the South American alongside Bowen to lead his line.

“My two strikers, West Ham’s Carlos Tevez, not the Man United one, the West Ham one, he was a joke, and to go along with that, Jarrod Bowen,” Ferdinand said.

Carlos Tevez’s stats for West Ham

Carlos Tevez will go down in history as a West Ham hero due to his late season heroics back in 2006/07.

The striker almost single-handedly saved West Ham towards the end of that season with an incredible run of goalscoring form.

However, for the most part at West Ham, Tevez struggled.

Indeed, while the Argentine will always be remembered for those goals towards the end of the season, his overall stats for the Hammers weren’t all that impressive.

Of course, Tevez stepped up and made it count when it matters most, but, overall, for the first six or so months Tevez was at West Ham, he was rather ineffectual as a striker.
