Anton Ferdinand and Matt Jarvis buzzing over who West Ham have now signed

West Ham United have been busy in the opening weeks of the summer transfer window, with three signings over the line already.

Brazilian midfielder Luis Guilherme joined West Ham from Palmeiras in June, becoming Julen Lopetegui’s first signing at the London Stadium.

He was followed by goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, who linked up with the Hammers after his Sheffield United contract expired.

Now, West Ham have made signing number three, getting their hands on Wolverhampton Wanderers defender and captain Max Kilman.

Anton Ferdinand and Matt Jarvis buzzing as Max Kilman joins West Ham

As per , the Hammers have signed the 27-year-old centre-back on a seven-year contract after paying Wolves £40million for their skipper.

The report claims that West Ham tried and failed with a £25million offer, but Wolves accepted a follow-up bid for a player they signed for just £40,000 in 2018.

Fifth-tier Maidenhead United, who inserted a 10 percent sell-on clause when they sold Kilman to Wolves, are now set for a £4million windfall.

West Ham announced the news on their website and socials, including a joint post on Instagram.

West Ham cult heroes Anton Ferdinand and Matt Jarvis (who is also a former Wolves player) were among those who welcomed Kilman to the London Stadium.

What will Max Kilman bring to West Ham?

West Ham endured a difficult season last time out, failing to qualify for Europe amid problems at the back.

The Hammers shipped 74 goals in the Premier League last term, more than any other team in the top half of the table.

With that in mind, Max Kilman is just what West Ham need to really strengthen their shaky back line.

The 27-year-old is superb with the ball at his feet, a great defender, proven in the Premier League and has superb leadership skills.
