Anthony Gordon says he wants £50m England star to sign for Newcastle this summer
Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon has now admitted that he’d ‘love’ for one his England teammates to join him at St James’ Park this summer.
Right now, Gordon and his England teammates are preparing to face Denmark on Thursday, ♛a chance for the Newcastle man to make his first minutes at Euro 2024.
Gordon will have been forgiven if he felt a little frustrated not to get an opportunity against a tiring Serbia back line on Sunday, an opportunity Jarrod Bowen took full advantage💙 of.
Instead, Go🌞rdon remained on the bench, and 🐲will wait for his big chance under Gareth Southgate.
One Newcastle player who did play the full 90 minutes was Kieran Trippier, who delivered a robust defensive performance.
Trippier’s reluctance to use﷽ his left foꦬot did hinder England at times, but it’s hardly something you can criticise the make-shift left-back for.
That being said, Trippier did actually play alongside a player who is now being extensively linked with a move to Newcastle, Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi.
Anthony Gordon admits he’d love Newcastle to sign England teammate Marc Guehi
As a result of their need for a new centre-back, Newcastle are reported꧟ly considering a move for Guehi, who would cost interested clubs £50m.
And when speaking to recently, Gordon has now made it quite cleaﷺr that he’d be a big fan of that move.

Gordon initially complemented Guehi’s performance and character, and then discussed the possibility of him joining Eddie Howe’s team.
He said: “He is top. He’s such a good player. I was glad the nation✅ got to see him shine on that stage because he is such a lovely guy and he deserves what is coming to him.
“I thought heꦕ was unbelievable in that game, considering his height compared to the strikers they had on. He won every header, he was aggressive, intercepting loads, and his main strength is his composure on the ball, he’s like a midfielder, so him and Stones at the back is🌌 a great partnership.
“I haven’t seen the Newcastle linksꦺ but it goes without saying I would love him to come, as I think he’s a t𒐪op, top player and he would make us a better team.”
Marc Guehi would be an upgrade on Tosin Adarabioyo
Of course, you’d be hard pressed to find a Newcastle United fan who wouldn’t agree with Gordon on this one.
Despite signing Lloyd Kelly, Newcastle would still benefit from the arrival of another centre-back given the injuries to Sven B✨otman and Jamaal Lascelles.
Howe demonstrated the club’s ambition to sign two defenders when chasing the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo, alb🔯eit for that move t♔o be rendered unsuccessful.
But sho⭕uld Newcastle make a move for Guehi has menওtioned, they’d definitely be securing a signing who could be as influential as Gordon himself.
