Anthony Gordon says Chelsea icon was easily the most talented player in his position in Premier League history

Chelsea boast a long list of players who can be considered bona fide Premier League legends.

The Stamford Bridge faithful will ⛄be hoping that Cole Palmer can turn into a potential great one day.

But from Gianfranco Zola to Frank Lampard, the plethora of former Chelsea stalwart💦s in particular who are etched in the history books of the English game is virtually endless.

Being a student of the game, Anthony Gordon grew up watching several of🧜 such lege💃ndary players.

With Gordon being a winger, he was quizzed about his thoughts on some of the greatest♐ wide players to have📖 ever played in the Premier League.

An icon who the Newcastle United speedster was particular🥃ly effusive i🐠n his praise towards was Eden Hazard.

Anthony Gordon raves about “phenomenal” Eden Hazard

Recently, Jamie Carragher ranked Eden Hജazard above Dennis Bergkamp as the superior player; such was the impact he had during his time in England. While Thierry Henry hailed Eden Hazard previously as well,♋ describing him as “a joy to watch.”

Furthermore, Scott McTominay lauded Eden Hazard by paying the Belgian the ultimate compliment that he is the toughest player he has ever🃏 come up against in his career.

Now, Gordon believes that in terms of natural talent, Hazard was a cut above every other winger to have ever plied their trade in the👍𝔍 Premier League.

The Englishman told Sky Sports: “I definitelyꦉ caught [Eden] Hazard. He was phenomenal. I think if you’re talking based on pu🌳re ability, he was the best Premier League winger.”

Considering Eden Hazard began his career in the Premier League as a young player hﷺimself, it is interesting to see how Gordon compares to him so fa൩r in his career.

It goes without saying that the former Everton💖 wide forward still has a long way to go before he is even mentioned in the same way as🍰 the retired dribbler.

But with Gordon havingℱ made 131 Premier League appearances, it would꧅ be interesting to see how his goal involvements stack up alongside Hazard when he played the same number of matches.

Based on the numbers, Gordon is no📖t too far away from Hazard.

But it is important to remember that the latter had won a Premier League title, a Europa🐭 League, a Carabao Cup as well as PFA Young Player of the Year and PFA Players’ ℱPlayer of the Year award.

If Gordon can even half have the career Eden Hazard did, both Newcastle an💦d England could have a very special player ওon their hands.
