Anthony Elanga and Diogo Dalot react after Everton announcement on deadline day

Manchester United duo Diogo Dalot and Anthony Elanga have reacted to James Garner moving to Everton on deadline day.

Everton were actually with a swoop for Elanga as well, but that did not materialise and he started in United’s 1-0 win over Leicester last night.

And while Elanga, and teammates including Dalot were earning that 1-0 win at the King Power Stadium, Garner was sealing a move to Everton.

The Englishman has moved to Goodison Park on a permanent basis and can now look forward to establishing himself in the Premier League.

Dalot and Elanga react after Garner joins Everton

Garner posted on Instagram celebrating his deadline day move as Frank Lampard moves to further improve his midfield options.

Dalot, Elanga and United new-boy Tyrell Malacia were in the comments section of the post, wishing the midfielder well on his next chapter.

He has come through the ranks at Old Trafford but has found opportunities hard to come by, despite United’s well-documented midfield issues in recent years.

Erik ten Hag has a reputation for bringing through young talent and when he failed to sign Frenkie de Jong, it might have been expected he would turn to Garner.

But instead he has been used to balance the books at United and it remains to be seen if that is a mistake which works out well for Everton.

Garner needs to be playing games and he has the makings of a future England player if his career progresses well and he reaches his full potential.
