Liverpool set to sign two of the world’s best

Liverpool are doing the complete opposite of resting on their laurels in the wake of their Premier League-winning 2024/25 campaign.

The Reds’ succession plan in goal appears to be firmly in place, with Giorgi Mamardashvili and Pecsi both arriving this summer.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold has joined Real Madrid a month early for around £10million and Frimpong has replaced him.

Now, Liverpool are set to sign two players who have both been described as among the very best in the world.

“He’s probably the best player in Europe at the moment,” former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann said of Wirtz on the Aldo Meets Podcast.

Indeed, some Liverpool fans have claimed that Wirtz could well be the biggest signing the club has ever made.

Meanwhile, Troy Deeney has previously deemed Kerkez one of the best full-backs in world football.

“For me he is one of the best left-backs in world football already,” Deeney previously told BBC Sport.

“He is exceptional with the ball and without it, runs all day and has loads of room to grow.

“It is not surprising that Liverpool have been linked to him.”
