‘Announce the title’ – These West Brom fans react to four deadline day arrivals

West Bromwich Albion enjoyed an extremely busy transfer deadline day. The Baggies welcomed four new arrivals to the Hawthorns. 

First, Grady Diangana arrived from West Ham United. The 21-year-old attacking-midfielder has joined the Championship club , and will re-unite with manager Slaven Bilic. The Baggies boss is well aware of Diangana’s talents, having handed the youngster his first professional contract whilst he was at the helm for the Hammers.

A second loan arrival joined West Brom later, in the form of Chris Willock. The former Arsenal academy star has . Willock was highly-rated by the Gunners, prior to his move to Portugal. However, he has not yet featured for the Benfica first team. He’ll be hoping to gain some regular football at the Hawthorns in order to get his career back on track.

30-year-old striker , arriving from Southampton for an undisclosed fee. The forward is a proven Premier League goalscorer, making his signature quite the coup for the Baggies. He has also shone in the second tier before, with 70 goals in 132 Championship appearances to his name. However, recurrent injury troubles have hampered him in recent seasons. If Austin can put his fitness woes behind him, then he has the capacity to fire Bilic’s side to promotion.

The Baggies rounded off a busy deadline day with the capture of Matheus Pereira. Another import from Portugal, the 23-year-old winger has from Sporting, with a view to a permanent switch being made next summer. The Brazilian has plenty of potential and will bring pace and fair to the flanks for Bilic’s side this season.

West Brom fans were certainly in high spirits as they reflected on their club’s business at the end of a busy transfer deadline day.
