‘Announce lifetime contract’ – Celtic fans are stunned by James Forrest’s performance

Celtic midfielder James Forrest scored four first-half goals as they thrashed St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

Forrest’s quartet was added to by Odsonne Edouard and Callum McGregor to earn Celtic a 6-0 win at St Johnstone.

The Bhoys appear to have their mojo back after a poor start to the season. And winger Forrest was on fire yesterday.

The 27-year-old is often criticised by Celtic fans and is sometimes inconsistent. But the supporters were thoroughly impressed by his showing against St Johnstone.

It was a day to remember for Forrest. After scoring his first on 15 minutes, Forrest had struck four before half-time.

Starting on the right flank, the Scotland international cut inside to devastating effect.

Forrest took his goals well and parted the St Johnstone defence on more than one occasion. Most of his goals came after he played a one-two with a team-mate and showed desire to get the ball back and shoot.

He even got Danny Swanson sent off. The St Johnstone midfielder slid in recklessly on Forrest in the second-half.

This is what Celtic fans said about Forrest’s performance.
