Angus Kinnear says Leeds have a ‘world-class’ player in their squad who hasn’t even made his debut yet

Angus Kinnear that Leeds United have signed a ‘world class’ player in Junior Firpo.
Big signing
Firpo is Leeds’ most expensive addition of the summer so far, and it is widely anticipated that he will step straight into their first-team this summer.
Marcelo Bielsa is generally cautious about putting new signings straight into his starting line-up.
But Leeds have a lack of other options at left-back, which means that Firpo looks nailed on to feature on opening day at Old Trafford.
And Kinnear’s words suggest that Leeds may well have added real quality to their squad.
“We’re delighted with the transfer of Junior,” he said.
“I think we have a world class left-back, who was hugely highly regarded before he signed for Barcelona.
“I don’t think Barcelona worked out in the way he would have hoped. But he’s been a brilliant addition already in terms of behind the scenes. A fantastic professional who works really hard, totally behind the ethos.
“We’re very pleased about that.”
Leeds made signing a left-back a real priority this summer, with Gjanni Alioski leaving the club.
Firpo quickly emerged as their first choice target, and he has now had plenty of time to settle in at Elland Road over pre-season.

Firpo has impressed in friendlies so far, but he is still yet to make his competitive debut for the Whites.
If he does feature on Saturday at Old Trafford then it could be a real baptism of fire.
Leeds lost 6-2 to Manchester United last season, but they improved steadily last time around, and it would be a major shock if it was such a one-sided scoreline again at the weekend.
