Ange Postecoglou urged to make £50m decision on ‘brilliant’ Tottenham star after Brighton masterclass
One Tottenham Hotspur player had the club’s supporters talking after watching his performance against Brighton and Hove Albion.
A major summer awaits Tottenham Hotspur with Champions League football on the horizon, but real uncertainty remains over Ange Postecoglou’s future.
Despite guiding the club to their first major trophy since 2008 and their first European title since 1984, the Australian’s job is still under threat after Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League.
But regardless of whether he stays or goes, some Tottenham fans have urged him to make a big decision over the future of Mathys Tel after watching him in action against Brighton.

Tottenham fans want Mathys Tel signed permanently from Bayern Munich
Certain Tottenham fans are keen for Mathys Tel’s loan move from Bayern Munich to be made permanent this summer. Tottenham can buy Tel for £50 million having agreed an option with the German champions in January.
However, Bayern are open to renegotiating the fee for Tel and talks with Spurs could soon commence over the Frenchman. The 19-year-old appears keen to play for the North London club next season.
After their defeat to Brighton, Tottenham supporters took to X to share their thoughts on making the winger’s move permanent.
One fan said: “Keep saying it, but Mathys Tel really has the foundation of being an excellent footballer. Need to make him permanent.”
Another added: “Mathys Tel is a must buy. If you can’t see it, I’m sorry.”
There were further calls for Tel’s move to be made permanent: “I don’t care what anyone says, I love Mathys Tel and we need to make him permanent.”
Finally, another claimed: “Djed Spence on for Mathys Tel. Hopefully, we see Tel back next season!”
Mathys Tel hints at extending his stay at Tottenham
During the lap of appreciation with the Europa League trophy, Tel revealed that he wants to keep winning trophies with Tottenham. The French youth international also admitted that Spurs is more than a club to him and his teammates
Tel told SpursPLAY: “Tottenham is not just a club, it’s everything for us. We have to keep going and win more trophies.”
