Ange Postecoglou told Tottenham they really needed to sign £27m player this month
There’s no doubt that Tottenham Hotspur have instilled a lot of faith in Ange Postecoglou’s blossoming project at the club.
Postecoglou’s first six months in North London couldn’t really have gone much better, even if he’ll argue that he would have liked to have avoided some key injuries.

However, the foundations that both Daniel Levy and his manager are putting in place look like they’ll serve the club brilliantly in the years to come.
The January arrivals of both Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin have proved just how well thought and efficient this new era of the club will be.
However, it has now been reported that Levy didn’t necessarily have the same urgency of his manager in one of those deals.
According to The Sun, Tottenham were willing to wait on a deal for Dragusin, but Postecoglou really pushed for the signing, a player he considered key to his project.
It was often reported that Postecoglou wanted another centre-back in the summer.
And judging by this information, the manager was leaving nothing to chance in January.
Moreover, Dragusin’s immediate debut at Old Trafford did demonstrate the need for such a profile in the squad.
Ange Postecoglou urged Tottenham to promptly add Radu Dragusin to his project
Of course, it’ll be interesting to see if Spurs now show the same haste with another deal they could chase this month.
Royal Antwerp’s Arthur Vermeeren looks to be one of Europe’s next top talents, an 18-year-old showing so much potential.

It was recently reported that Spurs were interested in the teenage midfielder, and it now seems as if they’re not alone.
Atletico Madrid are now in contact with Antwerp about a deal.
And it should now become clear just how serious Tottenham are about adding the talent to Postecoglou’s project.
Vermeeren could actually be the perfect profile to develop alongside the likes of Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur.
The three Tottenham players mentioned will demand a lot of game time, meaning Vermeeren can adapt his game sufficiently.
