Ange Postecoglou thinks 18-year-old Tottenham player who’s never played before has great potential
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou reportedly believes Ashley Phillips has a lot of potential.
Spurs have quite a few players out on loan, and many of them are impressing people with their performances. Young Phillips, who only joined Tottenham last year, is one of them.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou thinks Ashley Phillips has a lot of potential
Tottenham signed Ashley Phillips from Blackburn Rovers after triggering his £2 million release clause last year ().
The 18-year-old is a very talented young player. He impressed during his time at Ewood Park and then produced a couple of good performances for Spurs’ U21s side after joining the club.
Ange Postecoglou has shown that he is willing to give young players opportunities if they’re good enough, and Phillips has made the Spurs bench on a few occasions already.
However, the youngster didn’t get to make his debut before he was sent out on loan to Plymouth Argyle until the end of the season.
Talking about his future beyond his loan spell, claim Phillips is very much a part of Tottenham’s plans for the coming years.
Alasdair Gold writes that Postecoglou ‘believes the 18-year-old centre-back has plenty of potential’. He also claims that Phillips’ performances on loan so far ‘have belied his age’ and he’s earning a lot of praise there.

Phillips could save Tottenham millions
It is no secret at this point that Tottenham are looking to sign a new centre-back in the summer.
Loic Balde has all but confirmed that Spurs are interested in him, while Bayer Leverkusen duo Edmond Tapsoba and Odilon Kossounou have both been linked.
Ashley Phillips is quietly developing out on loan, and considering the fact that Tottenham are only looking for a backup centre-half in the summer, Phillips has a small chance to get that role.
That would save Spurs millions in the window and will allow them to use that money on other important positions on the pitch.
