Ange Postecoglou shares his verdict on Archie Gray’s display in Tottenham’s friendly vs Hearts
Ange Postecoglou delivered his verdict on Archie Gray’s performance during Tottenham Hotspur’s 5-1 friendly win against Hearts.
The Lilywhites kicked off their pre-season friendlies with a clash against Hearts at the Tynecastle Stadium.
Fans got a first glimpse of new additions Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray, who played at centre-back, interestingly.
Postecoglou has now shared his verdict on Gray’s first outing in a Tottenham shirt.

Ange Postecoglou hails Archie Gray
Speaking to , Postecoglou issued a glowing verdict on Archie Gray’s debut.
“Yeah no Archie did well and yeah look him, Skipp and Jamie probably weren’t expecting to be starting in our back four,” the Spurs boss said.
“But, that’s okay, you know, it’s about guys like Archie getting accustomed to how we play and how we train.
“He’s an intelligent kid and he coped with it okay today and like I say it’s just about letting him and Lucas settle into things.
“But I thought he was good today, Archie really good today, you know, he did things we know he can do today.
“He’s adapting to the intensity and tempo, so yeah he did well.”
Lucas Bergvall also impressed
Spurs fans also got a first look at Lucas Bergvall, who was another teenager that impressed in the friendly.
Football London’s Alasdair Gold was full of praise for the midfielder, writing: “The young Swede got better and better as the half wore on, setting up Moore and then playing a key part in the fifth goal.
“He looked a senior player amongst the youngsters.”
