Ange Postecoglou shares his honest opinion on Radu Dragusin’s display for Tottenham yesterday
Ange Postecoglou was impressed with Radu Dragusin’s display for Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park yesterday.
Radu Dragusin has had to bide his time since arriving at Tottenham in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old was snapped up from Genoa for a fee worth as Spurs beat Bayern Munich to his signature.
Tottenham were in desperate need of reinforcements at centre-back at the time, after spells without both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven. But after the defender arrived in north London, both of Postecoglou’s starting centre-backs returned to action.

Dragusin had managed just three appearances in the Premier League before yesterday’s trip to Aston Villa, with all three coming in the final minutes of games.
But after Van de Ven was forced off with an injury at Villa yesterday, Dragusin finally got his opportunity to impress as he got 40 minutes under his belt.
Postecoglou delivers verdict on Dragusin as Tottenham thrash Villa
Speaking to after Tottenham picked up a statement 4-0 win at Villa Park on Saturday, Postecoglou shared his thoughts on Dragusin.
“Radu coming in, and again in a big game, I thought he handled himself really well,” the Aussie said.

After Dragusin’s introduction, Tottenham went on to net four times as they built on a composed start to the game.
The Romanian centre-back didn’t exactly have a lot to do after replacing Van de Ven as Spurs dominated proceedings.
Yet, Postecoglou will be encouraged by the defender’s performance, particularly with his ability to play out from the back.
Dragusin was certainly helped by the fact that Villa were reduced to 10 men shortly after his introduction. But if Van de Ven faces a spell on the sidelines, the former Genoa man has shown he’s ready to step up in the Dutchman’s absence.
