Ange Postecoglou shares Cristian Romero fitness update ahead of Manchester City clash
Tottenham Hotspur face Manchester City this weekend in a game that is going to be incredibly difficult.
City come into this game off the back of four consecutive defeats in all competitions, but after the news of Pep Guardiola’s contract renewal, the Premier League champions may be buoyed heading into this game.
That said, City do have a poor record against Tottenham.

Spurs will be hoping to continue their good record against Guardiola’s side, but ahead of this game, there is a slight worry around one of the north London club’s key players.
Indeed, speaking on Tottenham’s YouTube channel, Ange Postecoglou has stated that Cristian Romero is carrying a bit of an issue heading into this game.

Cristian Romero has an injury issue
Postecoglou shared a fitness update on his squad.
The manager’s update was largely positive, claiming that Romero is the only player with a bit of a problem.
Romero was subbed off for Argentina with an injury last week, and that issue seems to have persisted.
“For the most part, they’re still coming back into the building, but it looks like most of them got through it ok, but the only one with a bit of an issue is Romero. We will see how he is in the next couple of days,” Postecoglou said.
“They’re still coming back at this stage, we will get a first sight of them today, but it doesn’t seem like there are too many issues.”
Tottenham injuries compared to Manchester City
Spurs have a bit of an issue with Romero heading into this weekend’s game, but it’s nothing compared to what their opponents are dealing with right now.

Manchester City’s injury crisis is terrible at the moment, and while you never want to see a player hurt or sidelines with these sorts of problems, City fielding a weakened XI does give Tottenham a chance of victory here.
Spurs definitely need a result here.
Ange Postecoglou isn’t under pressure at the moment, but with his side 10th in the table, there’s only so long this can go on before questions are asked.
Spurs lost to Ipswich last time out, but a win against Manchester City would certainly alleviate a lot of the worries that are growing around Tottenham at the moment.
