Ange Postecoglou set to freeze ‘incredible’ player out of the Tottenham squad

Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to return to action with a bang on the weekend in the North London Derby.

Last time out proved to be a frustrating afternoon of football for Tottenham as they failed to take their chances against Newcastle United.

But it is now too late for Tottenham to bring in any further additions to their squad with the summer transfer window now long behind them.

However, there is still some time for some of their players to depart the club with the transfer market still active in other parts of the world.

And there is one player specifically who is at risk of being completely frozen out by Ange Postecoglou if he does not find himself a way out of Tottenham before Friday night.

Tottenham defender at risk of being frozen out of the squad

There was a lot of change happening at Hotspur Way over the summer with Tottenham offloading double digit number of players.

Some have departed permanently and some on loan but there is one noteworthy player who is yet to find his way out of the club.

Sergio Reguilon has received interest from the likes of Besiktas this summer but is said to be in search of a move to play Champions League football with.

According to , Reguilon is now a matter of hours away from being frozen out of the Tottenham squad completely by Postecoglou.

The Spaniard now has very few options open to him with only a limited few markets still open across the world.

One of those happens to be the Turkish market where Reguilon has received some interest from over the summer.

But it is believed Reguilon’s levels has dropped considerably from the ‘incredible‘ standard he previously set and is now set to be exiled by the Australian manager at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham need left-back cover for Destiny Udogie

Ironically, Tottenham have came out of the summer transfer window still needing some direct cover for Destiny Udogie at left-back.

Spurs may still have Ben Davies at the club but the Wales international does not provide a like for like replacement to the Italian.

Although some fans may suggest Reguilon could potentially fill that void, his reported drop in levels will be a real concern to Postecoglou.

And it has to be remembered that Spurs have struggled massively with the homegrown quota this season which would mean Reguilon could not be included in the Europa League squad.
