Ange Postecoglou set to drop £26m player from Tottenham starting XI for West Ham tonight
Tottenham Hotspur are in Premier League action on Thursday evening as they prepare to take on West Ham in North London.
Ange Postecoglou‘s Spurs will hope to get back to winning ways and build on their impressive result last time out when they face the Hammers in the 8:15pm kickoff.
Tottenham are currently in the midst of an injury crisis, which has also been exacerbated by suspensions.
However, there is one bit of good news for Spurs in that Cristian Romero is back from his three-match suspension.
The Argentina international is expected to go straight into the Tottenham starting XI, which poses questions as to who he’ll replace.
According to Dan Kilpatrick of the , Emerson Royal is expected to make way for Romero, with Ben Davies likely to keep his place.

Davies, a left-footer with considerable experience at centre-back as well as left-back, seems like the logical option alongside Romero.
Emerson, who has deputised at right centre-back in the past two matches, was twice caught playing out in the 3-3 draw at Manchester City.
It’s no surprise that Postecoglou is apparently looking to take him out of the XI, if only for the fact he’s not got much experience at centre-back.
Food for thought for Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou
While it’s great news that Romero is back, he’s still walking a tightrope. If he gets another straight red card, he’ll have to serve a four-match ban.
Therefore, it’s imperative that the 25-year-old is as focused as can be, particularly now we’re in the busy festive period of football.
As for Emerson, he deserves some sympathy for how he fared in arguably the toughest fixture in English football – Manchester City away – out of position.
However, it remains to be seen when the man will get another chance to feature in the starting XI, as he has been struggling for game time of late.
