Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham now have an ‘exciting’ youngster who every top club is aware of
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has now been discussing one of the excellent young talents at the club.
Postecoglou has a rich history of working with young players that stretches well beyond his stint at Celtic.
However, the manager’s time in Scotland did really highlight how willing the Australian is to invest time and give chances to young talents.
Perhaps Destiny Udogie has been the best example at Spurs this season, another manager could have easily sought a more experienced option in the summer.
However, Postecoglou’s faith paid dividends, as it has on multiple occasions.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see how the likes of Alfie Devine and Ashley Phillips fit back into the squad next season after their Plymouth Argyle loans – two players who surely have a rich future in North London.
That being said, it was a midfielder who has only just become a Tottenham player who Postecoglou was discussing on this occasion.
A deal has now been agreed for young star Lucas Bergvall to join Tottenham in the summer, a player Postecoglou is very excited to work with.

Postecoglou sat down with the to discuss Bergvall’s recent signing and vast potential in the coming years.
He said: “Yeah look, exciting young player obviously, been on our radar through Johan [Lange], but I think he’s probably been on every big club’s radar.
“There’s not too many sort of hidden gems around the place anymore, you know he’s got some really good attributes, he’s a great young man, comes from a good family.
“He was very thoughtful about his next step which I thought was important, because he obviously had some choices.
“It’s great for us that he decided to join us because I think it shows we’re trying to build something here, and that people see us as a good option for themselves.
“Looking forward to getting him in the summer and working with the group and helping him grow from there.”
Of course, it will be very exciting to watch Postecoglou craft Bergvall’s path at Tottenham, a young midfielder with so much potential.
That being said, it seems a player he can learn a lot from is now ready to return for Spurs.
