Ange Postecoglou says one Tottenham player received a ‘whack’ after crossing the line last season
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has had his say on the incident involving Richarlison and Brennan Johnson in the game against Nottingham Forest last season.
Spurs were under Antonio Conte back then, and Richarlison, who had just signed for the club, was a regular off the bench in the first few games of the campaign. What the Brazilian did at Nottingham Forest went on to become the most-talked-about moment of the game.

Ange Postecoglou addresses Richarlison and Brennan Johnson incident ahead of Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham
Tottenham went to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest in their fourth Premier League game of last season.
Spurs were high on confidence after a good start to the campaign. They were the favourites to win the game, and they did just that thanks to a brace from Harry Kane.
However, the biggest talking point was what happened after Richarlison came on as a substitute in the second half.
The Brazilian tried to show off by doing keepie-uppies in the middle of the game. Unsurprisingly, that didn’t go down well, and Brennan Johnson, who was a Forest player then, crashed into him with a strong challenge. Steve Cooper was furious after the game.
Addressing the incident now, Ange Postecoglou backed Johnson for doing what he did and suggested that Richarlison crossed the line by showboating.
He said, as per : “I reckon even if you did what Richy did as a kid, someone would give you a whack! That’s just part of football. Everyone knows there’s a line.
“It’s all good. We don’t want to take all the fun out of the game. Every player knows there’s a line and if you cross that line, somebody will bring you back into line pretty quickly.
“Brennan did that with Richy.”

Richarlison and Brennan Johnson need to step up for Tottenham
Richarlison and Brennan Johnson would’ve probably disliked each other after the incident last year, but they are on the same side now and are good mates.
The two attackers have immense potential. They have what it takes to score regular goals for this Tottenham side, but they haven’t quite done it yet.
However, Richarlison is free from injuries now and Johnson has been improving every week. Both of them are in a much better place and could really explode in the coming months.
Tottenham take on Nottingham Forest tonight, and it will be interesting to see the reception Richarlison and Johnson will get from the home fans.
