Ange Postecoglou says he’s ‘very excited’ about ‘fantastic’ Tottenham player now

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham have got off to a slow start so far this season.

Spurs have won just two of their opening five games, and they sit firmly in mid-table at the moment.

However, there have been signs of positivity in this Spurs side this season, and Ange Postecoglou is expecting improvements.

Indeed, the Australian has been very clear about the fact he always wins trophies in his second season, and he’s expecting the same again this year.

Speaking at the Tottenham Fan Forum, Postecoglou has been discussing the signing of Dominic Solanke, and the manager says that he’s expecting Solanke to step up this season, claiming that he’s really excited about what the striker can achieve.

Ange Postecoglou is excited about Dominic Solanke

The Tottenham manager discussed Solanke.

“He’s going to be a great acquisition for the football club. He’s a fantastic footballer, a great guy, he has fit in well with the group. I’m big on the people we bring into the dressing room. We already have a great dressing room with great people and I don’t want to disrupt that,” Postecoglou said.

“Dom is a great person and he will be a great player for us. All strikers love scoring goals, but there is definitely more to come from him. I’m very excited, it’s a major investment for the club and all summer he was the one who really stood out as being really important for what we’re trying to build.”

How many goals will Dominic Solanke score this season?

Dominic Solanke hasn’t had the fastest of starts for Tottenham, scoring just once so far this season.

However, now that the ball is rolling, Solanke should get a bit of momentum behind him.

It’s impossible to predict what Solanke will do this season, but Darren Bent has tipped Solanke to score a minimum of 15 goals.

“Yes, minimum (15 goals this season). I guess for him and playing in that team with the creativity they have got. If he gets 15 to 20 for Tottenham, that is still a really good season. 15 to 20 is a good season,” Bent said.

Solanke could be set for a big season for Tottenham, and as Ange Postecoglou says, there’s plenty more to come from the England international.
