Ange Postecoglou says he’s ‘genuinely excited’ about a young player at Tottenham who has barely played
Ange Postecoglou is a lot happier at Tottenham Hotspur now than he was a few weeks ago.
Spurs have had a really poor season in the Premier League. They are currently 12th in the table, having won just nine of their first 25 games.
One of the biggest reasons why Tottenham are where they are is injuries. Spurs have been hit badly by fitness issues all season, and Postecoglou has had to struggle a lot.
However, things are finally looking better for the Australian as many of his injured players are either back or are closing in on a return.
Postecoglou has claimed that he is really ‘excited’ about one of them.
Ange Postecoglou makes big Wilson Odobert prediction at Tottenham
Tottenham signed Wilson Odobert from Burnley last summer.
The deal to bring the young French attacker came out of nowhere, but Spurs had kept an eye on him for a while and pounced when they saw an opportunity.
Odobert is a really exciting talent, but unfortunately for Spurs fans, they haven’t been able to see a lot of him so far this season.
The 20-year-old has played just 185 minutes of football for Tottenham in all competitions. That is because he has spent over 140 days on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.
Odobert is back now, and Postecoglou can’t contain his excitement. The Spurs boss has also predicted that the Frenchman will have a ‘real big impact’ next season.
He said, as per : “[His absence] was disappointing because I am genuinely excited about Wilson’s potential as a footballer. He’s got really unique qualities that are exciting to see how they develop.
“And particularly to the way we want to play. He’s the one player that is a bit different to the others in terms of our attacking players. The dribbling capacity that he has, it’s hard to find. And he has that and enjoys that part of the game. He was a new signing but we haven’t really seen him yet. But with him, there’s still an opportunity there to make an impact this year.
“We’ll be careful with him in terms of how we reintegrate him, but there’s a good chunk of the season there with some important games so hopefully he finishes the season strong and then next year I think he’ll make a real big impact, not just with us but in the league.”

Odobert sent a message to Postecoglou vs Manchester United
Tottenham have had problems in attack this season, especially on the left.
Skipper Son Heung-min has not been at his best this term. It looks like he has lost a bit of pace and his confidence seems shot as well.
That was evident in the game against Manchester United last weekend.
Son was on the pitch for 87 minutes and completed just three dribbles. Odobert managed the same in three minutes, and that really excited Spurs fans.
That should convince Postecoglou that Odobert deserves more minutes in the coming weeks, and we won’t be surprised at all if he starts ahead of Son in the very near future.
