Ange Postecoglou says Brennan Johnson can do one thing nobody else can at Tottenham after 4-1 win v Ipswich Town
Brennan Johnson was the man of the moment for Tottenham Hotspur as he scored a brilliant brace in his side’s emphatic 4-1 victory against Ipswich Town.
Johnson’s first goal was a tap-in as he made a clever run down the far post and dispatched Heung-min Son’s pinpoint low cross.
Son assisted the Tottenham winger once again, whose first-time finish flew into the back of the net as he was ready to sniff danger and go for goal inside the box once again.
Brennan Johnson would have been delighted with his performance as he has had a mixed bag of a season.
The Welshman has been criticised, with Danny Murphy claiming Tottenham erred by signing Johnson in the first place.
Even Jamie O’Hara has been critical of Johnson earlier this season, who went on to pick up an ill-timed injury that stopped him in his tracks.

Ange Postecoglou praises Brennan Johnson’s movement after Ipswich Town vs Tottenham
But Johnson looks ready to silence his critics, as he at least momentarily did against Ipswich Town.
Ange Postecoglou lauded Kevin Danso’s display against Ipswich and when asked about the former Nottingham Forest goalscorer’s performance, he was similarly complimentary as well.
Postecoglou pointed out that Spurs lack a player who has a Johnson who times his runs as perfectly as he does.
Ange Postecoglou said via BeanymanSports: “Yeah, Brennan’s really good for us. We don’t really have another front third player like him. He just knows when to arrive at the right time. He’s really clinical.”
“It’s just great to get him back and get him 60 minutes of football. He’s missed a lot of football. I’m sure he’ll feel good after today.”
Glenn Hoddle compared Johnson to Raheem Sterling due to how intelligent the former’s movement and goalscoring instincts are as well.
How Ryan Mason has helped Brennan Johnson become a dangerous goalscorer
Johnson has scored 14 goals in all competitions for Tottenham this season, as his productivity certainly cannot be underestimated.

Johnson explained Ryan Mason has helped him behind the scenes by working with him on his movement, finishing and dribbling.
The 23-year-old said: “I’ve been working with the coaches here and especially with Mase.”
“He’s been doing a lot of work with me on picking up positions, the different types of finishes, what kind of part of the foot I’m hitting with and also dribbling and then shooting, so a lot of thanks must go to him because he’s been helping me a lot with that.”
Ange Postecoglou will be hoping that Johnson continues to step up with important goals until the end of the season as Spurs certainly need them during Dominic Solanke’s absence especially.
However, Postecoglou should perhaps advise the Nottingham-born forward to better his chance creation and become a more unpredictable dribbler if he wishes to morph into the complete winger.
